The temple known as Sureswari Devi is devoted to the goddess Sureswari, who is believed to be a manifestation of Parvati or Goddess Durga and who symbolizes Shakti, or the holy feminine energy. Her divine supremacy is indicated by her name, Sureswari, which can be translated as “the Goddess of the Devas (celestial beings).”
The Sureswari Devi Temple is not as famous as Mansa Devi or Chandi Devi temples in Haridwar, but holds ancient significance among locals and pilgrims who regard it as a powerful Shakti Peeth or an energy center of the Goddess.
According to certain local tales, this temple was connected to the Saptarishi Ashram and the ancient sages who meditated there while being blessed and shielded by Sureswari Devi’s feminine divine force.
 
Although the temple has undergone renovations over the years, its sanctity and spiritual atmosphere have endured. It is believed that the temple dates back several centuries.

The deity of Goddess Sureswari, often adorned with garlands of flowers and brilliant red or yellow garments, is kept in the sanctum sanctorum. In addition to representations of other Hindu deities including Lord Shiva, Ganesh, and Hanuman, the temple typically has bells, tridents (trishuls), and diya stands outside.
